Philippians 4:1-3closePhilippians 4:1-3 4:1 Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. Exhortation, Encouragement, and Prayer I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. This Sunday, August 20, our Worship Service will be held at Bob and Sheryl Wideman’s farm starting at 11:00 am. New Life Mennonite Church (Spanish speaking) will be joining us. We will have a potluck after the service. Meat will be provided but please bring a salad or dessert to share. Swimming, volleyball and other yard games will be available. Please feel free to share with others. Everyone is welcome.

Next text, in the Philippians series, will be taken from Philippians 4:4-9closePhilippians 4:4-9 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. This week Pastor Ken Driedger will be on duty Sunday through Thursday.

Pastor Ken and/or Dawne and Quesney are praying together in the upper room at 10:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We take about 10-15 minutes to read some scripture, pray a psalm, pray for our community and our church together and encourage each other. We welcome anyone who would like to join us as you are able.

Note from  Dani Hoover: Thank you Wideman Church for having me as a guest speaker. I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to share my journey with you. Thank you to all who generously donated to my work with LAUNCH Youth Unlimited. If you wish to learn more about what I do or how you can help, you can email me: dhoover@yugta.ca
