Announcements

? This week Pastor Ken Driedger will be back on duty on January 2-4.

? From the Finance Committee: Our donations are under budget by $ 5,000.00. Please consider additional giving before the end of the year. Thank you.

? The Stouffville Christian Ministerial Association has stored a selection of winter coats at EastRidge Church in Stouffville that are available free of charge to anyone who needs them. To see what sizes are available, call the church office.

? Here are two ways to give in our community this Christmas season:

  1. Buy a gift card at a grocery or drug store, place it in an envelope that is provided beside the Christmas tree in the sanctuary, and place it on the tree. These will be shared with our refugee families as they are needed.
  2. Donate winter clothing/covers for the homeless “ Out of the cold” program.

WIDEMAN MENNONITE CHURCH EVENTS

? Today is a Testimony Sunday! Please tell how God has been at work in your life in 2017 through stories, scripture or songs!

? Sunday School will resume on January 7, after the holiday season.

? We’ve heard a lot in the news lately about sexual harassment and assault. But how is it defined? What is at stake? And what can we, as the people of Jesus, contribute to the discussion? What can we do to protect vulnerable people? Maybe you have other questions. On January 7, Ken Driedger will lead some conversation and prayer about these things during the Sunday School hour.

? The youth are going on a service trip over March Break to Clear Lake, California to rebuild houses after a devastating fire in 2015. There will be 3 fundraising soup lunches coming up. The first one is at Community Mennonite Church on January 14. The second one is at Wideman Mennonite Church on February 4 and the third one will be at Rouge Valley Mennonite on February 25. We hope you can attend one or all of the soup lunches and help support the youth on this trip.
