Pastors Dawne and Ken will be on duty Sunday through Thursday this week.

Pray for Martha Schwartzentruber and her family as they grieve the passing of Gerald Schwartzentruber on January 27. Gerald was a pastor and chaplain for a total of 39 years: St. Agatha Mennonite Church 14 years, Wellesley Mennonite Church 14 years; Nithview Home 27 years. He served as an interim pastor at Hunta Mennonite Church for a short time during his retirement. Friends and relatives were invited to the Wilmot Mennonite Church, 2995 Bleams Rd, New Hamburg for visitation on Wednesday from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. The memorial service was at Steinman Mennonite Church, 1316 Synder’s Rd W, Baden on Thursday, January 31 at 2:30 pm. Condolences can be sent to Martha at gmtruber@gmail.com.

LOOKING AHEAD – MENNONITE COMMUNITY EVENTS

March 1, 2019 at 11 am: World Day of Prayer service will be held at Grace Anglican  in Markham .  All are invited. The guest speaker will be Julie Ginter from Ajax.  She is an award winning honey producer and active Christian leader in the GTA. Julie will be speaking on the art of beekeeping and highlights of Slovenia. Slovenia was the country who wrote the World Day of Prayer service for 2019.  Regarding honey production, Slovenia lead the campaign to have May 20th declared as world beekeeping day. March 1st to 3rd: Winter Camp for Grownups – . This camp is for 20 and 30 somethings who wish they could do camp again! This “choose your own adventure” weekend is a collaborative project between Silver Lake Mennonite Camp and Pastors in Exile.
