What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. This week Pastor Ken Driedger will be on duty Sunday through Thursday.

This week Quesney will be in the office on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. If you need help prior to this time, please contact Barb Ribble or Linda Ramer.

Pastor Ken and/or Dawne and Quesney are praying together in the upper room at 10:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We take about 10-15 minutes to read some scripture, pray a psalm, pray for our community and our church together and encourage each other. We welcome anyone who would like to join us as you are able.

At the invitation of the Church Council, Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (MCEC) is acting to assist Wideman Mennonite Church with a long experience of conflict.  That conflict has largely stayed within the leadership of the congregation but its results are detrimental to the wellbeing of the larger community.
MCEC has set up a panel whose task it will be to listen to grievances and challenges of individuals with congregational leadership.  This listening process will occur in a public meeting that anyone in the congregation is welcome to attend. This meeting will be held on Monday October 2nd, 2017 beginning at 7 pm.  The panel members are Paul McDowell from Stouffville Community Mennonite Church, Trisha Ashworth from Rouge Valley Mennonite Church and Al Rempel, MCEC Regional Minister.
The expectation at this meeting is that everyone will adhere to a code of behaviour that reflects a long-standing policy of the Mennonite Church called “Agreeing and Disagreeing in love.”  The panel will listen to those who have chosen to participate and then to the congregational leaders in response.  A written report that likely will include recommendations will be shared sometime following this meeting.  Your prayers are requested as we seek to live together in the love of Christ even while disagreeing about some matters at this time.
