LOOKING AHEAD – WIDEMAN MENNONITE CHURCH EVENTS

What Can’t Wait?  We know Advent to be a season of waiting, but is idle and passive waiting what God wants of us? To prepare to celebrate the coming of the Messiah, we will ponder together what things can’t wait.  What are the things that demand our immediate attention? What things call us to work and prepare? What can’t God wait for? Does He wait for our praise, reconciliation, and our sharing His Good News? Does He wait for the end of suffering, loneliness, and fear? This Advent, join us in imagining, and preparing for the celebration!  As we wait, what can’t?

¨ Tuesday, Dec 24-Christmas Eve, 5:30pm. Everyone is welcome to join in a church potluck to celebrate the season.  Please feel free to invite friends and neighbours!

¨ Sunday, January 5 at 9:45 a.m.:  Six month pastoral feedback and discussion regarding a further term.

¨ Saturday, January 18: The Great Winter Warn Up—Come and celebrate MCC’s 100th anniversary with us. Groups across Canada and the United States will be working the same day to tie 6500 comforters for relief. Drop in between 9AM and 2PM at the church.
Soup lunch will be available. Invite your friends to tie a few knots. Talk to Nancy Taylor or Barb Ribble if you have questions.

¨ Sunday, February 9:  Soup lunch after the service to raise funds for the MDS trip to West Virginia. Details to follow.
