LOOKING AHEAD – MENNONITE COMMUNITY EVENTS
November 10, 7:00 pm: The team travelling to El Salvador to build houses in February 2019 invites you to a Dessert Coffee House at Rouge Valley Mennonite to hear about their trip and to help raise funds for the houses they will be building. This is the second year this team is going with the plan to build 16 houses. Team members you may know this year are Brian and Bonnie Drudge, Trudy Burkholder, Steve, Ryan, Deanna, Andrea Drudge and Sarah Jones. Others on the team are from Listowel, Peterborough, Bobcaygeon and Bielefeld Germany. Mark your calendar for 7 pm November 10 and come partner in this exciting adventure. November 15 at 7:30 am: MEDA Breakfast: All are welcome to join us for the MEDA breakfast at the Stone Crock Restaurant in St. Jacobs. We will hear from James and Michelle Herrle, the 5th generation to farm the Herrle family land in St. Agatha. They will share about some of their challenges and achievements working in the agricultural sector, and how they have been intentional about setting goals that support community and the lives of others. Breakfast is $15 (cash or cheque). No RSVP required.
November 17 at 7:00 pm: Theatre of the Beat will perform #ChurchToo at Toronto United Mennonite Church (1774 Queen St. East, Toronto). #ChurchToo explores the church’s struggles with sexual violence and of speaking out. Content Advisory: #ChurchToo deals with sexual misconduct, abuse, and assault; and is not recommended for audiences under the age of 14. Admission by donation. Co-hosted with Toronto Chinese MC and Danforth MC.
November 24 from 11 am to 2 pm: Lemonville United Church is holding it’s 27th annual ‘Soup’s On’ with homemade soup and apple crisp. You are invited to attend.
