Pray for Eleanor Epp-Stobbe and David Epp-Stobbe (MCEC pastors) as they grieve the passing of Eleanor’s father and retired MCEC minister Henry P Epp. Henry, who lived a full and joyful life of 102 years, passed away on October 10. Henry served in Waterloo-Kitchener United Mennonite Church, St Catharines United Mennonite Church, Windsor, Bethany, and Grace Mennonite churches, and Lao Christian Fellowship. Visitation is at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 14 Russell St, Leamington today, Sunday Oct 14 (4:00 – 7:00). Funeral Service to celebrate Henry’s life is at the Leamington United Mennonite Church, 78 Oak St E on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1 p.m. Condolences can be sent to Eleanor and David at eleanor@breslaumc.ca.

 LOOKING AHEAD – WIDEMAN MENNONITE CHURCH EVENTS

Today Sunday Oct 14:  Sweets for a Cause.  In response to  all the calamities that have recently happened , we are responding to the call of MCC for their efforts of helping and providing necessary assistance to various affected people. Baked goods will be available in the foyer after worship service.  Free will donation will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Join us at sewing circle to quilt and tie comforters. Men and women are welcome. Bring your lunch. Beverage will be provided.

Saturday Oct, 20: For the Children Dinner and Auction in WMC Basement . Dinner  will be served at 5:30 and Auction starts at 7:00pm. Sign up sheet is posted in the foyer . All proceeds will go to MCC Education and Water Programs.

Saturday, October 27: Reading the Bible with Jesus Workshop. Beginning at 9:45am and concluding with a potluck at 5pm. Wouldn’t it be amazing to journey into Scripture with Jesus? What might Jesus say to us about our lives, our world and the hard issues facing the church today? Bryan Moyer Suderman will be leading a series of 3 workshops focused on “Reading the Bible with Jesus” for the GTA Mennonite churches. The potluck will be followed by a Bryan Moyer Suderman concert beginning at 7pm. Feel free to come for whatever part of the day you can… it’s all happening at Toronto Chinese Mennonite Church, 1038 Woodbine Avenue.

November 10, 7:00 pm: The team travelling to El Salvador to build houses in February 2019 invites you to a Dessert Coffee House at Rouge Valley Mennonite to hear about their trip and to help raise funds for the houses they will be building. This is the second year this team is going with the plan to build 16 houses. Team members you may know this year are Brian and Bonnie Drudge, Trudy Burkholder, Steve, Ryan, Deanna, Andrea Drudge and Sarah Jones. Others on the team are from Listowel, Peterborough, Bobcaygeon and Bielefeld Germany. Mark your calendar for 7 pm November 10 and come partner in this exciting adventure.
