Please remember Henry Paetkau (MCEC pastor) and family as they grieve the death of Henry’s father, Peter. Peter Paetkau died on September 1, 2018, just 8 days shy of his 91st birthday.
LOOKING AHEAD – WIDEMAN MENNONITE CHURCH EVENTS
Sun. Sept. 16, 9:45 a.m. – Everyone is invited to participate in discussion and feedback regarding our Sept. 9 meeting with Taucha Inrig. Taucha will not be in attendance.
Wed., Oct. 10, from 7:00-9:00 pm – Calling all worship leaders! If you ever lead worship, or if you think you might like to lead worship someday, or even if you are just curious about leading worship, come join us in the church basement for our second “Worship Leaders’ Workshop.” Worshiping God is one of the church’s most important activities, and we want to be prepared to do it as well as we possibly can.
Sept 21-23: Our annual Fall retreat at Fraser Lake. If you would like to help plan the weekend, speak to Milissa Fortier or Nancy Taylor.
Saturday Oct, 20: WMC Children Dinner and Auction, at 5:30pm. All proceeds will go to MCC Water and Education Programs .
LOOKING AHEAD – MENNONITE COMMUNITY EVENTS
Today Sunday, Sept. 9 at 3pm there will be an Annual Commemorative Service at the Altona Mennonite Meetinghouse. Come enjoy the hymn sing and fellowship as well as a short talk about the history of Altona by Ruth Myers.
Sept. 15 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) : Toronto Mennonite Festival relief sale is happening at Black Creek Pioneer Village (1000 Murray Ross Parkway). There will be food, music and quilts to enjoy and to buy, and the money raised will go to Mennonite Central Committee for their work around the world. Join us for the fun!
